| Now She Smiles Again… |
Lavanya was born in a very poor family, and had lost her parents at a very young age. She had nowhere to go, except her Grandparents. But they were already dependent on their sons, and therefore were not in the position to take care of Lavanya. To get rid of her, Lavanya’s heartless Grandfather forcefully married her away to a man much elder to her age. Thus, Lavanya lost not only her education, but also her childhood. Scared and helpless, she ran away from her in-laws’ home and started living all by herself in a small hut in Rompicherla. At the tender age of sixteen, she started working as a daily wage laborer in and around the village for a livelihood. Subsequently, she approached the Mandal Samakhya Office (MSO) for a decent job and managed to get employed as an accountant there. |
The Ramky Foundation came across this helpless young girl in May 2007, when she expressed her desire to study and live her life like any other child. Touched by her story, we assured her all the monetary and moral support that she needed by adopting her. Since then we have been giving her the best of education that we can and have been taking care of all her needs like a parent.
This daughter of Ramky Foundation is presently pursuing her intermediate. Now, Lavanya smiles again like she always wanted to…

| And Her Wish Was Granted… |
Madhavi had always dreamt of being an Engineer and was leaving no stones unturned on her way of achieving the goal. When she secured 94% in her intermediate, she happily thought that she had almost made it to the destination. But fate had something else in store for her…
Madhavi was born in a very poor family, where her father was a truck driver and her mother was a daily wage laborer. She had two siblings, one elder brother and a younger sister. Her father died of HIV, while her distressed mother left the home, leaving Madhavi and her sister under the care of their elder brother. Madhavi’s elder brother, who was married and worked as an auto driver took care of her food, clothing and shelter, but could not support her education. Still determined to pursue her higher education, she started working as a daily wage laborer at one of the Cotton Mills in Guntur District, A.P and with those earnings she managed to apply for her Engineering and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET). Unfortunately, due to her job she could not concentrate on her studies and had secured very low marks in the test. Desperate but hopeful, she approached the Ramky Foundation in 2008 with the wish of becoming an “Engineer”.
Impressed by her determination we adopted her and ensured to support her till she became self-dependent. Through her hard work, she secured 4th rank in her College during the first year of her Engineering course. Apart from her education, her all other basic needs are also fulfilled by the Ramky Foundation which is her parent, friend, philosopher and guide now. |

| The Touch That Healed… |
Mr. Anil Kumar Pattipati, a Journalist by profession was the sole breadwinner of his family. With his meager income, he had to support his wife and two children. Sadly, at the age of 37, he was diagnosed with Bilateral Osteoarthritis. The disease crippled him to such an extent that he became bed ridden and he could not get on his feet anymore and walk. The physical pain due to the illness; the mental pressure due to the inability to work and the resulting economic crisis, were starting to take a toll on his overall being.
He saw a ray of hope when the doctors said that he would be able to walk again if he undergoes a hip replacement surgery. However, even that hope dashed to the ground when he learnt that the surgery would cost a whopping Rs 6 Lakhs.
Luckily, he managed to receive Rs. 2 lakhs from the CM relief fund and Rs. 1 Lakh from other donors. Still, he was in need of a few more lakhs for the surgery. This remaining amount of Rs 2.5 Lakhs was donated by the Ramky Foundation and thus he was successfully operated on 7th December 2008. Today, we are glad to note that Mr. Kumar has fully recovered from the crippling illness and is moving around like any other healthy person. This healing touch of Ramky Foundation had given him a new lease of life.
